Money Smart for Seniors

About

Our Money Smart for Seniors project addresses the ‘silent crimes’ of elder financial abuse, scams and fraud. Anyone can fall victim to financial scams the tricks keep changing, so it’s important to stay informed, be alert and protect yourself. Together with community members, AMCS has created a suite of practical resources to help individuals keep their finances secure. Our community groups have shared valuable insights into their experiences and needs, allowing us to tailor our support to help people stay safe and confident with their money.

These resources are designed to support different ways of learning and sharing information. You can explore them based on how you prefer to engage:

Beat the Wolf Card Game

AMCS has created an interactive card game to make learning about scams fun and engaging. Inspired by the story of the wolf in sheep’s clothing, the game introduces a few simple strengths we can use to protect ourselves. Community groups can learn and practise together, in their own language.

Reminder

Developed in collaboration with AMCS community groups across Victoria, these materials reflect real experiences and needs, making them relevant, simple and ready to use.

🛑 Remember: Stop and check – it might be a wolf attacking your money!

Thank you to our partners

AMCS acknowledges financial support from the Ian Rollo Currie Estate Foundation and Perpetual Trustees, and thanks our project partners Goldsmiths P/L, eSafety Seniors, House Studios, and our community groups for their collaboration in bringing these resources to life.
